bird brushes

Just a test of a bird brush made following along with the DVD. I have also finished up some dense tree brushes as well. Doing these things is giving me ideas for my own useful brushes in creating the kinds of environments I want to make. I still have a ways to go with the DVD though, and want to get through it. The problem is setting aside the time to do it.

FGdoor

This door was modeled and rendered in XSI. No textures applied except for one board where I tried brushing some color on it using a weight map. I was mostly just testing out Global Illumination settings, seeing how this would render. I like it so far, except for the really dark shadow in the upper left corner of the door. I may use this as a simple backdrop scene for an animation. I just don’t have any idea what I will put there.

The joy of html…

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

I have been working feverishly on my website this past week, and despite many distractions I have managed to get something put together in Photoshop and Imageready. With a few tweaks made in Dreamweaver, I have finally come up with something I could at least look at on a browser. I had managed to get it all working in both firefox and internet explorer, but one thing really bugged me. I would have to chop up the tables and things inside that page in order to place any content on it! I don’t want to do that! So I have been scouring the resources on this site to learn how to put it all together in xhtml and css by hand so I can take some control from those crutch programs I have relied on all of this time. this is how far I have gotten. Not much, but it is a start. Now if only there was a magic cure to fix the discrepancy between firefox and internet explorer when using decent xhtml and css.
